Twice a year, the Community Foundation’s Grants Committee reviews competitive grant applications from local nonprofits and awards crucial funding to projects, based upon community need and organizational ability to impact those needs. The Grants Committee is comprised of 20 community volunteers, experienced in a variety of fields, who broadly represent community interests and ensure informed, balanced decisions are made on each proposal. As a donor or fundholder, you can support or complement the efforts of the Grants Committee, leveraging their expertise and enhancing their impact.
Donate to the Community Foundation Competitive Grantmaking Fund
Take comfort in the knowledge that your contribution will make a significant difference in our community, expanding the number of or degree to which meaningful projects can be supported by the Community Foundation. If you wish, you may also designate your gift to specifically support work in Arts and Culture, Health and Human Services, Education, Conservation and Environment, Civic involvement or Recreation. Partner with the Grants Committee
An alternative to directly contributing to our competitive grantmaking fund is to partner with our Grants Committee to more fully fund deserving projects in our community. Given our community’s increasing needs, funding requests consistently exceed our resources. As a result, even after receiving a grant from the Community Foundation, many organizations and programs still have unmet needs. You can review funded projects under Grants in Action and selectively join with the Grants Committee in sponsoring work that has earned their support.
