About Janet Whitmire
Janet is a retired Physical Therapist with a B.S. degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Colorado and an M.S. degree in Health Administration from the University of North Florida. She has had an extensive healthcare career, with specialized training in neurology at the Bobath Clinic in London, England and practice ranging from general to rehabilitation hospitals, specialized clinics, ownership of a pediatric private practice with Duval County school contracts, and teaching at the university level. Janet was a member of a team that developed and obtained accreditation for a Masters of Physical Therapy program at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. In addition to her administrative responsibilities, she served as an Adjunct Professor and Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education. She has been active on several local non-profit Boards including Jackson Hole Therapeutic Riding, Good Samaritan Mission, and Timber Ridge Academy. Janet and her husband Bob live in Wilson and keep busy with their combined family of 7 children and 9 grandchildren. They enjoy hiking, skiing and traveling.
