About Miriam Morillon

Miriam was born in San Simeon, Mexico, moved to Mexico City at a young age to pursue an education, and graduated with a licensure in accounting from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. She is a Certified Public Accountant and has over 20 years of experience in finance and accounting. She has lived in the Jackson area since 2000, and started working for CLC in 2003. She is an active leader and physical education advocate in Jackson’s Latinx community. After graduating from the Community Leadership Academy in 2017, she became involved in the cooperative Whole Health effort to bring education regarding health and nutrition to Latinx community members in Jackson, taught Spanish-language workout classes at the Rec Center, and organized trips into the national parks for new hikers. She is also a central member of several community projects to support her hometown in Tlaxcala, having raised funds for desks and whiteboards for a new high school as well as raising funds and resources to build and supply a children’s library.
