Community Foundation awarded $1.5M in Catalyst Grants to local nonprofits
The inaugural cycle of Catalyst Grants awarded in December supported 26 local nonprofit organizations with nearly $1.5 million in funding. This newly established grantmaking channel supports four distinct programs: Behavioral Health Initiative grants, Education & Families Initiative grants, Housing Solutions Initiative grants, and Opportunities grants. Within their theme, each of the four program areas share a single goal to address complex community issues by funding innovative strategies and partnerships.
Through Catalyst 2024, the Foundation strengthens its investment in critical work across three core Initiatives, and this round of grants focuses on behavioral health and housing, and out-of-school time for youth. Other persistent community problems addressed through these grants include water quality and management, e‑bike safety, and access to food, healthcare, recreational opportunities, and the arts.
“During grant committee meetings, we noticed the breadth of issues brought to light by grant requests from our nonprofit partners who are working across sectors to shape and refine community infrastructure, and to create safety nets where needed,” said Foundation President Laurie Andrews. “These grants get to the heart of Teton County’s pressing needs.”
Grants were awarded based on community need, anticipated impact, and organizational capacity to deliver. Grants committees are comprised of local volunteers with diverse expertise and lived experiences.
