Docent at the National Museum of Wildlife Art
The National Museum of Wildlife Art is looking for volunteer
docents to join our program and lead tours of our art collection. Our Museum
has over 100 pre-scheduled tours with private groups each year that require
volunteer docents. Docents sign up for tours online, which means you can choose
your own schedule. The majority of tours occur in the months of December
through February and June through September.
For anyone interested in becoming a docent, you do not need
to have an art background, we will train you and provide you with learning
materials such as books, articles, and videos. Training to become a docent
takes most people 3-6 months to complete.
Becoming a docent is a truly rewarding experience. We rotate
exhibits about 3 times per year, so there is always more to learn. We also
provide specialized training sessions for our docents, so the learning never
stops! If you are interested in signing up or have any other questions, please
contact Sage Wilson at swilson@wildlifeart.org or
call Sage at 307-732-5443. Learn more here.
