Design Thinking is a human-centered, collaborative approach to problem-solving that is creative, iterative, and practical. It starts with understanding the needs and experiences of the people you are designing for, generating a wide range of ideas, and rapidly prototyping and testing solutions. This method encourages creativity and confidence, fostering an environment where team members feel comfortable experimenting and learning from failures.
Why Design Thinking for Non-Profits?
Non-profits face unique challenges such as limited resources, diverse stakeholder needs, and complex social issues. When designing or evaluating programs, initiatives, products and/or services, a user-centered process can most often lead to the greatest impact while minimizing effort and resources. Design Thinking provides a structured yet flexible framework to navigate these challenges effectively.
Participants will:
- Gain knowledge on the key concepts of Design Thinking and how to apply them to re-frame challenges and innovate more effectively
- Develop Creative Confidence: the ability to take on problems that don’t have a clear answer.
- Learn to put your target audience at the center of your efforts so that your solutions and programs are more efficient and effective.
